About Us

The Campaign for What Works is a statewide civic effort initiated by The Pittsburgh Foundation, United Way of Allegheny County, the Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership and The Forbes Funds to ensure the future of our vital human service programs and, above all, the well-being of the people they serve.

The C4WW supports publicly funded, human and social service programs that work for consumers, providers and taxpayers. To that end, the Campaign for What Works:

  • Encourages all levels of Pennsylvania’s government to make human services a top priority
  • Raises public awareness of the value of Pennsylvania’s human service organizations
  • Advocates for the hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians who rely on human services – vulnerable children, struggling families, individuals with disabilities, seniors trying to remain independent — whose voices often go unheard
  • Promotes the importance of proven, innovative programs in Pennsylvania that provide services to those in need in a more efficient manner at less cost to taxpayers

The effort is non-partisan and seeks out unique and broad coalition partners to advance research-based strategies. We invite individuals and organizations into meaningful action to advocate collectively for lasting change.

We encourage you to join us in whatever ways suit you best.
