You have a lot of power with social media, here are some suggestions on how you can use it.

1. Engage decision-makers by directly contacting them through social media.

Many of the state legislators utilize Twitter and Facebook to stay in touch with their constituents. We have included links in their contact information.

On Facebook, you can write on the wall of the official pages for legislators.  Tell them your story, post a video, photo or postcard, and ask them to respond to the questions you may have about how the budget cuts will impact you and your community.

On Twitter, you can use the reply/mention feature to contact the legislator and encourage others to join the conversation.  A direct reply on Twitter, looks like this: @TwitterID (like @4WhatWorks)  Add the hashtag #Works4PA, so others can follow along with your tweets and create a conversation about the issues.

2. Raise awareness Campaign For What Works’ initiatives:

By posting messages, stories, links, photos, video and/or postcards in your status update on Facebook or as a post in Twitter.

Suggest to your friends, colleagues, board members, volunteers and anyone interested in budget impact they check out this website and add their own stories.

Share other stories that you find with this website and our FB page.  Don’t forget to post in groups that you belong to like alumni groups to inform others about why our nonprofit organizations work and why they need our help. Comment on and share posts from the WhyCutWhatWorks FB page.
